They may tell you that the services or rituals are free, but then say they need money from you to buy materials, animals, perform rituals, etc. It is a scam and all lies as real bomohs will never ask money from you even for materials. It is a big pantang (taboo) for bomohs to ask for money.
With a genuine bomoh you need not pay anything at all. Tok Ji will not ask any money from you for materials, animal sacrifices, or the like. For those whom He helps, as is the custom, everyone offers a token of appreciation in the form of an angpau. It is any amount they wish as long as it is sincere.
